This might be kind of long:
First of all, I wanted to move all of my Outlook mail from Windows drive and put it in Thunderbird on my Linux drive. I have Mozilla on my windows drive, and imported my Outlook files into Mozilla Mail. So far so good. I then boot into Mandrake 9.1, navigate to /mnt/win_d/ (my Windows drive, find the file where Mozilla Mail has put my e-mails, and copy it. I then find where Thuderbird puts mail and I paste my Mozilla Mail files there. I have to rename a couple of things, but no big problem. I open up Thunderbird, and all my folders and e-mail are now in it, great! But then.....I start setting up mail filters. I set up one and then try to run it on my inbox. Nothing happens. I create several other filters and I can't get any of them to work. So I remove Thunderbird completely. I download a new copy and install it. But before I put my Outlook/Mozilla Mail in it, I try a test. I create a mail filter based on another e-mail address I have. I send myself an e-mail from that address, and it goes exactly where I told it to go in the filter. Great! I then paste my old e-mails into the Thunderbird directory, they show up in Thunderbird, etc. I think I'm doing good now. So I try creating some filters, and they did exactly what they did before, nothing. I mess around with it some more, and turns out the message filters will work on new mail when I receive it. However, the Run Filter command does nothing to the stuff in my inbox. A minor annoyance, but I wonder if there is a way to fix it.
Thanks
