Hi all,
I need some advice on my filesystem.

I created 3 partitions for my system (debian 2.2.18) and named them / , /home , and /var.

My / directory is just under 300 Megs. I think it's that size because of the possible problem with Linux finding it's boot info on large Hd's. I know there is some kind of warning associated with that, but it was days ago and a little fuzzy.

Anyway, my root dir is already almost full! I'm at 99% and afraid of running out of disk space.

What should I do? Should I use partition magic or some other tool to increase the size of this partition? I have plenty of space on my other partitions.

Thanks for the help.

Hehe. I thought this message should have been in a porn forum looking at the heading.

yes you need to partition. what you can is to create a 20meg partition well under the 1024 cylinder limit and assign it as "/boot". since your're not going to create a partition for "/usr" make your "/" big.

what i always do is create a 200 swap partition, 20meg "/boot" , and 1 big "/" partition.
