slackware xf86config question

Since my card is unsupported i tried a standard VGA driver during setup and it works when i startx but every is in a 300 by 280 window and i cant see the whole desktop. Does anyone know a generic SVGA card i can choose from the list of cards that will work. i keep tring different ones with no luck.

Have you checked your video card against the lists at www.xfree86.org (http://www.xfree86.org) to verify if it's supported or not and if it is, what versions of X you can use? There also may be suggestions for generic servers you can try.

You should also have a look at the documentation included with XFree86 in /usr/X11R6/man as there could be something there to help.
