I've got two computers that I intend to share a DSL connection with using a 2Wire 1000SW Home Portal that connects directly to one computer via USB, and one that I intend to connect it with a wireless network card. That's easy, however I also want to hook up my Xbox to a computer to play Halo and other non-Xbox Live games online without having to buy a router.
I believe it would, at least in theory, be possible to use the computer that is online via the network card as a server that could output the information to the Xbox with the existing and unoccupied Ethernet port.
I'm soon buying an 802.11b(the homeportal uses 802.11b, no need for 802.11g) wireless network card and I plan to try to work this out. I'm not that great with Linux software-wise, but I have a fair understanding of computer hardware and I see nothing to prevent this, unless I am overlooking something simple. Just wondering if this is possible?
