Backing up my system

Now, after a month of work, i finaly have averything (well almost everything) working on my Mandrake 8.1 (Vitamin) box. So i want to start learning the script programming and this stuff. I have to mention that i know C/C++ not bad (i think). So here is the question : How do i Backup my system ? Is there any GHost for linux ? Is Norton GHost works for Linux ? If it doesn't, what is the problem ?
