I've installed linux on my system but unfortunately when I created the partition for one of my mounts I used too much space. How can I shrink and realocate the partition space to another location that needs it more without loosing data ?

which distro are you using? some have built-in partition programs e.g. mandrake.

failing that, do a search in the forums here and

www.google.com/linux

search for something like 'linux partitioning' or 'changing partition size'. you could also add the name of your distro in your search.
