I want to be able to winvnc into my server from my Windows machine. I setup and configured realvnc that comes with RH 9.0, and installed the viewer for my Windows machine.
I can connect to the server by typing domain.com:1 , but all it does is open a window, and bring upa command prompt. What I'm looking to do is be able to remote into my server, and see what is physically on my desktop at that time. Can vnc do that? Can someone please tell me how?

ok, now I'm stumpted. it works fine when I'm logged in. However, let's say I'm connected, and I need to reboot. Well I can't VNC back in until it is logged in, which isn't what I want. Is there any way to get the service to start before the login? I want to be able to reboot, and VNC back in. So is there a way to VNC in, see the login screen, then log in?
Security is not an issue because there is no external port for this, it's internal only. Anyone know of a way to do this?

Not sure what you want to do with VNC, but maybe ssh is what you are looking for. If you are looking to edit config files on your server from a remote location, give ssh a shot.
