Hello

i have small net 3 computers, linux mandrake 8 gateway to internet, i run squid 2.3 for y net

i don't have my dsl anymore that's why i wanted to use chaching, coz i'm at isdn now i want some sites to be cached, so i can view them offline, but looks like squid doesn't allow me to use cahche when i'm not connected


my question is, do i really need it than?

Squid is very cool, but no, it probably won't work very well while your Internet connection is down.

Squid is somewhat complicated (not too bad) and eats up a ton of RAM (which is adjustable, depending on how much you want to cache) and a ton of disk space (also adjustable), but it can make things very, very fast.
