I burned the 8.1 disc in win98se and checked with md5sum and all seemed well. But I get this CDROM does not seem to be a Mandrake-Linux Installation CDROM would you like to retry with another disc? message.
Any ideas what Im doing wrong? Ive got mandrake 8.0 standard edition that bought at store for 30 buks and want to upgrade.
I am a newbie to linux in every sence of the word so fell free to talk down to me. :D

Did you create the cd correctly and not just burn the iso as is to the cd?

In CD Creator and I would imagine Nero, select 'Create CD from Image', browse to the iso image (change the filetype in the dropdown box if necessary), select the iso image and away you go.

There are instructions for the most popular cd burning packages at www.linuxiso.org (http://www.linuxiso.org) or is it .net.
