Debian linux and a Intel Pro 1000? The e1000 driver doesn't seem to work. I have an onboard intel pro 1000 nic on an MSI 875P Neo mobo. Please help.

Have you read this yet? (http://www.intel.com/support/network/adapter/1000/linux/e1000.htm)

A lot of information there.

Good Luck,

The link teeitup posted does look to be quite helpful.

Besides that, what exactly is the problem? Not detected? Module will not load?

nope, it's the kernel drivers, they don't work.

The e1000 module included with the kernel or the one downloaded and installed from Intel?

the kernel drivers provided don't work, 3 others and myself tried to compile intels drivers with no success. I tried to take a binary from someone redhat box also and that failed as well.

The JL member in this recent thread (http://justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=106743&highlight=e1000) got the e1000 module working.
