Has anyone installed kvidtune in redhat? I'm running redhat 7.1 beta and got some errors trying to compile the source and unresolved dependances trying to install a SuSE 6.2 RPM i found on tucows. thanks.

Is kvidtune the same as xvidtune? Believe Redhat has the latter.

kvidtune is a xvidtune replacement. kvidtune saves your settings to your configs though. latter?

Are you compiling the source code or compiling a source rpm (package.src.rpm)?? I am running the beta also and could only compile source rpms. There are some problems with the way some packages point to the kernel headers. I was able to compile and install the rpm for the nvidia drivers this way.

I'm not to familiar with compiling since I'm fairly new to linux, i have been trying to get it installed on my computer for about 2 years now but I have always had some hardware that was never supported or fully supported. Now most of it is, actually all of it is except I just need to tweak my monitor to get rid of the fuzzy/shaky screen. I'm pretty sure that I couldn't install the RPM because there were some unresolve dependances and I got some error doing "make" on the source. I was in root.

I would suggest downloading the .src.rpm package for what you are trying to install. Then rpm --rebuild package(one you are installing.src.rpm See if it will make an installable rpm for you. Pay attention to the output of this command, the system will put the new rpm in a particular directory and you must then go install it. It helps to know where it was created. If these instructions are not clear enough then please post back and I will try to clarify.

Good luck
