I had installed linuxconf, but then later decided I didn't want it, so I ran the uuninstall script. All went well, but now, I cannot ssh, ftp, or get my webpage off my computer from any other computer. When I try to use ssh, I get a message stating connection refused. The web page just times out. Also, when I try to use emacs to open root files, I get a message saying unable to connect to 0:0, or something of the like. I am using slack 8.0, any ideas what was changed and how to fix it? (I already checked hosts.allow and hosts.deny.) Thanks!

Have you tried reinstalling Linuxconf to see if it fixes the problem?

If you don't want to do that, then maybe try Slackware support site or usergroups to see if there is any mention on uninstalling Linuxconf breaking things.

Had to change Redhat to Slackware as I just noticed that's what you have.

I would like to avoid re-installing linuxconf, but I'll try the slack groups and see if anyone knows. Thanks.
