To first start using linux, i put 3 distros on my HD [Debian, Mandrake 9.1, Redhat 8] -- after some problems with Debian, my computer freezng up every time i plugged in my wireless usb card in MDK, I realized that redhat 8 has been my favorite distro so far. I like how it looks, and for the most part, like how it works. One minor problem -- I installed the redhat acpi kernel rpm, and I know ACPI is working, since I now have working sound. However, I cannot seem to get the gnome battery monitor to work. There is a /battery directory inside /proc/acpi, so I know it's loaded. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this to work?
