I got linux a while ago and i was wondering if there is a program like kaza where i can download music from, i tried a whole bunch of stuff like gnapster and limewire, but none of them worked, any suggestions, or do you guys know any good ftp sites?
Thanks

I think kazaa has (or had) a linux client, but it was command line only. I personally use Limewire and don't have too many complaints. I never did manage to get giFT to work properly on my LFS machine.

Limewire (http://www.limewire.com/) is quite good. Uses Java tho', that's how they can run it across platforms and develop it as heavily as they do.

Its a nice application, but you sometimes need to really prod it to try and find what you want.

FYI, kazza did indeed have a linux client, but is no longer supported so kazza for linux is dead.

File sharing apps- gtk-gnutella, qtella, limewire, giFT (giFTcurs), audiogalaxy.

I use audiogalaxy, but beware the readme says to put the email you registered with in account.txt, but I had to put my login name there for it to work.

Wich is the best DC-client?
I would prefer one with a nice gui, I've never managed to compile one.

stay away from kazaa regardless if it has a linux client or not. spyware is the pits.

audio galaxy does have a linux client and it is relatively easy to install... it doesnt have a gui so you basically run the client (i set it off from a term window) and the audio galaxy website should recognize that your 'satellite' is operating and you can use that website to search and transfer files.

as mentioned, i too had to enter my 'login name' and not my registered email address when prompted.
