if i download vector linux (not get the CD) does it come with KDE and the GIMP and stuff? on the features page it says that it comes with those products if you get the CD.

The regular Vector Linux CD would not come with those unless you buy the cd. You can of course download those packages and install them later. Vector Linux KDE is actually an official KDE build on the KDE servers.

The deluxe cd you buy does include all those extras though.

The free SOHO CD includes all that stuff and then some by default. If you're not trying to cram your install into under a gig or two, I recommend going with SOHO. The current version is 3.2 SOHO, and that's actually what I'm using today. It's quite nice.
