Hi! I have downloaded a firewall "astaro" don't know if it is good but i have downloaded anyway, it wore 52Mb in *.iso, but now the size is 152Mb, i open the cd, and it is very much like windows, but with no *.exe.
In the cd i find some directorys, among them there is one that says "install" i enter in that directory as all i find is files with extenction .dat. It is like astaro_inst.dat
how do i install this pakadges?

Is there a README or INSTALL file anywhere? Usually those will tell you how to install the software. In some rare cases (*cough*StarOffice*cough*) there're no instructions with the package. I would suggest making a search for installation instructions for this package using www.google.com (http://www.google.com)

The installation instructions are in a pdf on Astaro's site, but they basically tell you to boot from the CD and follow the on-screen instructions. :rolleyes:

The .dat files contain data which is used by the installation program. You might have to look around the disk further to find the install application itself.

I also noticed that Astaro had a user's message board on their site; you might want to post your question there.

Thanks, for answering, i noticed that there wore a forum there, i have already post a topic there.! Do you thing that this firewall to be installed must be booted form the cd?
kind of wierd for a firewall, i mean a firewall with 152mb is wired enought.
But im considering that the firewall is good, and i want to tried out.
