xine's no longer working

Well I went into the Mandrake Control Center > Software Management/RpmDrake and noticed there was an update for xine so I selected it and now xine is no longer working. If I click on a file to open it a tab appears in the panel below with the flipping hour glass icon for a short while and then it disappears and nothing else happens.

As we usually suggest for these types of problems, run it from the commandline so you can see what the errors are.

It is really hard for us to figure that out without knowing what the errors are.

it's probably due to conflicting xine-lib beta releases being found.

As how to fix, hopefully another member will plenty of Xine experience can assist you.
