Hey all: I'm looking for a development platform for a few sites that I'm going to be hosting in the future. I'm a big fan of Dreamweaver, but I'm committed to doing all the development on my Linux boxes so I'm looking for something thats semi-equivalent to it. The two that look the most promising now are Quanta and Bluefish, but after doing some research, I'm unable to make much of a distinction between the two. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them and hopefully I can get some recommendations.

Thanks in advance,
Jon

You could always install and use both and then decide on which to stick with.

That's true; I guess I was just trying to save myself the aggravation of have to uninstall one of them. I'll most likely end up doing that though since I'm pretty indecisive when it comes to comparable software.

The problem is that some will like Quanta and others will like Bluefish, so it is best for you to decide for yourself on which suits your needs.

Just my own opinion.

I'm agreed with mdwatts, you should try both.. then you will see.

Well, I downloaded and installed both Quanta and Bluefish. I wrote a few test pages with each and ultimately I think it's going to be Quanta; it's more feature rich and the interface is a bit softer on the eyes. It seems to be relatively bug free from what I can gather so far, but man did it take a long time to compile, although it looks like it'll be worth it. Thanks all for the opinions.

Noooo. Use Bluefish as it's better. :D

Since I'm not lacking in HDD space I'm going to keep both of installed in case I have a change of heart in the near future, but, for now I'm gonna stick with Quanta.
