pcmcia function lost in debian after update

i have lost my pcmcia wireless connection after updating pcmcia-cs from the debian package. it is a us robotics card that once held the link but now starts to blink after the cardmgr service starts. any ideas on how to re-configure it?

usually in debian to reconfig a pacakge the command is

dpkg-reconfigure <pacakge name>

it didn't work. thanks for the bit on dkpg-reconfigure. i wasn't aware of that.

my laptop is pinging the router BEFORE it starts the pcmcia cardmgr. do you know how to configure cardmgr? i have all the wireless .conf files in line, it is just the pcmcia will not link the card.
