Is it possible to allocate space for Mandrake while XP has the partition. i mean like, can mandrake adjust the partition to make space for it?

If so could you please let me know how its done

Thanks :)

I'm not sure if Mandrake's included partitioning tools can resize XP if installed on a NTFS partition. You may need to get a copy of the latest Partition Magic in order to resize the newer ntfs that XP has.

If you are using fat32, then just defrag first and you shouldn't have any problems resizing to allow for the Mandrake installation.

I've done it with win2k, no problems other than waiting 2 hours for the defrag. XP though...YMMV

I would use Partition magic for this. It is the best for doing jobs like that.

There's some partition program for Dos that you can use to resize the xp partition ... look under the dostools dir...
