Hello,
I have Redhat 7.1 beta installed and its all working fine. It has XFree86 4.02 installed also. Well, my problem is that I
have my videocard (Voodoo 4 4500 PCI) all setup along with my monitor (Dell E550) and im in 1024x768 but it flickers.
You can notice it if you look at an icon or the edge of a Window. The screen is also darker then normal. I then can go in
xvidtune and set my hsync to: 48.44 and my vsync to: 60.09 then click "Apply" and everything is perfect, no flicker, the
screen is normal brightness! But then when I log out of X and log back in the flicker is there again and if I rerun xvidtune
it says "hsync: 48.36" and "vsync: 60.00". How come the values i changed them to werent saved? My monitors
horizontal scan range is: 31 kHz - 54 kHz and vertical scan range is: 50 Hz - 120 Hz. I should also note that when I run
Xconfigurator it detects my monitor but it detects my horazontal scan range as: 30 kHz - 54 kHz but I know for a fact
from the monitors documentation that it is 31 kHz - 54 kHz. So does anyone know how I can fix this and stop the
flickering using the settings I put in xvidtune permanently? Thank you. :(
