Hi,

I've been trying to login to my isp with a modem without much luck. Actually it seems like I'm connecting and my password is accepted - in the login script debug window it shows the connection is made. However, I get the following errors in the PPP log when it tries to establish the connection with the network -

(each of these were on a separate line preceeded by the date and time)
pppd 2.4.1 started by root, uid 0
Using interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <->/dev/ttyS4
Terminating on signal 15.
Connection terminated
Receive serial link is not 8-bit clean
Problem: all had bit 7 set to 0
Exit.

then...
kppp's diagnosis (just guessing):
You have launched pppd before the remote server was ready to establish a PPP connection. Please use the terminal-based login to verify.

The Login script Debug window has the following output:

ATZ
OK
ATM1L1
OK
ATDT661-0326
CONNECT 32000 V43bis

Any guidance people can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Just a guess. Does your isp use PAP or SLIP authentication?
