I've looked through the help files and read a dozen mouse problem posts here on the board, but none of them have seemed to help me.

I'm running Redhat 9 using Gnome. I have Microsft Wirless Optical Intellimouse (2 button + scrollwheel), during instalation the mouse works fine. I have expierienced no strange behavior that would indicate it is using the wrong protocol, however quite often i boot up and my mouse simply wont respond.

I go about doing what ever I can.. sometimes switch back to Windows, or do something. Eventually I'll boot up linux again and the mouse works perfectly... There seems to be no rhyme nor reason to this problem.

I'd greatly apprieciate any advice on how to solve this problem.

It would be nice to get a copy of your dmesg from when it doesn't work, and /var/log/messages

What happens if you unplug and then replug the USB receiver?

Of coourse I can't get it to not work when I want it to :)

I'll remember to check those things next time it doesn't work though. I'm fairly sure unpluging reciever didn't help when I tried it.
