Hello to all,

I'm new here, and the ultimate form of newbie in Linux environment.

But, installation of Madrake was a big succes, everything works, even my webcam, which didn't work under XP, my scanners, every single thing!!!

So GREAT! Linux immediately recognized my internet connection, so I was positively surprised!

Only one thing. And I already read quite a lot, but I still dont understand everything. At least I know how to become root and stuff like that.

Well! My Soundcard, an Audigy 2 doesn't work.

Yeah! It did ONCE!

After the install i tested everything, and i didnt hear sound at all. So I visited the configuration, and saw, a EMU10k1 installed. Well. thats not something new, but when I just installed it again, I hear the speakers, and at the soundtest, I hear sound. And the thing did it!

So I rebooted. And guess...nothing. I did my simplistic tric again, and nothing happens...

Well, first of all: Does Mandrake support Audigy 2? It must! Cause I swear I heard a few songs earlier that evening with Linux Mandrake 9.1

But how to solve this, AND make it bootable.

I read all kinds of stuff, but I don't understand at all. Where to start for example? It's a shipload of information, for a starting Linux User ...

I though you needed to install the specific drivers for the Audigy2.

There are links in this thread (http://justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=106017&highlight=audigy) for the Audigy2 drivers.

All right, thanks, I'll have a look at those suggestions...
