Java Applets with KDE 3.1.0

This problem relates specifically to the use or Yahoo Games with the KDE Browser.
/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so

Above is the path for the jre plugin howver when I attempt to load the appplet it simply says loading Java Applet and then nothing else happens. any suggestions?

Have a look in Setting/Configure Konqueror/Java and Javascript and see if Java is enabled etc.

This is all very confusing to me but I have checked the kde sight and for all intents and purposes from what I gather it is supposed to work. All I get is a "loading applett" and then nothing no matter how long I wait. Now I was suing sun microsystems products but I'm gathering there are other products available ? Perhaps something from somewhere else may work better? I don't know. If you can use Java in the kde bwoser and can load for example the Yaoo pool applets perhaps you can tell me where your instance of java resides, the path etc and what products that I may compare with my own?

In Configure Konqueror/Java/Path to Java executable, I have java which is located in

/usr/lib

and is symlinked from

/usr/lib/SunJava2-1.3
