im thinking about switching to linux altogether. first... i have a pci datafax winmodem. i had to get as cheap as i could cause im actually paying my sister for this comp right now. she actually agreed when i asked her. but pci winmodems are supposed to be easy to setup in linux right? this page here (<url>http://home.cyberarmy.com/tcu/linux/linuxwinmodems.txt</url> ) pretty much says that. my 2nd question... is their any internet call waiting programs that work with linux? or would i be able to use my icw through a windows emu through linux? ill be testing this stuff out with a lin4win setup first though so i dont mess anything up. i got all my stuff on cd-rws anyways. ive just been noticing that i really dont need windows. the few programs i really need would work fine with emus

"would i be able to use my icw through a windows emu through linux?"

Is that supposed to say "icw" (in which case I have no idea what you're talking about) or is it supposed to say icq?

If it is supposed to say ICQ, you may be able to emulate the windows version (I really don't know), but I would say there is no point. licq (licq.org) is in my opinion way better than the windows versions of icq.

Doesn't have all sorts of crap that nobody uses.

you can check www.linmodem.org (http://www.linmodem.org) or www.linmodems.org (http://www.linmodems.org) to see if that winmodem will work. Most winmodems DO NOT work with linux. Either way I would suggest you get an external modem as for the call waiting stuff you can search www.freshmeat.net (http://www.freshmeat.net) to see if there's anything like that.
