LainOS - The next generation??

So I was browsing some forums the other day and I someone posted the comical thread that went along the lines of "How do I make Linux look like it did in the movie "Hackers"?" After getting flamed for a while, someone posted something about how the OSes in "Hackers" looked like LainOS. I did a G4L search on it and went to the LainOS project page and the idea sounds cool, but there was nothing that made me think that it was going to be the next generation of *nix in any way, shape or form. The only thing I gathered is that it's going to be a combination of Anime and Linux. Other than the project page, the G4L search didn't turn up anything else of any substance. I was just wondering if 1. anyone had any other sites or references with some info about LainOS and 2. for those of you who do know a little bit about it, what is going to make it the next generation of *nix?

Yeah I'm just extra bored today. Boss is outta town so I've been running endless port scans for the network admins on some development servers about to go production. Interesting, yet pretty tedious.
