Ok, just recently moved into a new house, set everything up, used my PC and all. Anyway, I booted to Windows XP, then powered down before I left. When I returned, I tried to turn my PC on, the light flickered on and nothing happened. I checked all the connections, the power outlet, etc.... I found nothing wrong, but everytime I try to power it up, it flickers on for a second and powers down.

Any idea why!? Or how I could fix it!?

Crack open the casing and check that nothing has come loose during the move.

Cheers :)

I agree with the previous post. Newer mobos BIOS can detect if the CPU fan does not spin up and will not power up the computer.

does it beep at all when you power it up?

Well, I checked all the connections, everything was firmly plugged in, and it still did the same thing. Getting desperate, I completely tore everything out and connected everything back together...

Oddly, it powers up just fine now.

You must have given it a good swift boot. :)

Some times a slightly offset AGP card may be the reason, if the length of the AGP card don't match the AGP slot exactly.

I've also seen this behaviour with those old adapter cards for Celeron CPUs.

Reminds me of an article I read years ago in the now defunct Popular Electronics magazine. It was titled "The Fungus is Among Us" (honest!)

Talked about oxidation, dirt, etc. on pc card contacts and slots causing malefunctions in computers. (II+'s and original pc's, giving away my age ;)). The first thing they recommended was pulling and reinserting all the cards and cables.
