A couple years ago, while taking a CS class, we all had to use the college's RS/6000, running AIX. Well the guy who admin'd this box was an idiot. I found out that all users had write access to every tty, and virtual tty.
So I log in, go to the /dev, look to see who owned which tty, finger that login to see if I know the person, and find out which computer in the lab they were logged into.
Then it was a simple matter of;
cat > (their tty)
Now everything I type, shows up on their telnet screen. I would hold down enter for a bit, so everything they were working on would scrool up, and off the screen. Then I would type something real clever, like;
hello mike
the matrix has you
But instead of mike, would use the name finger had given me. It was great fun to watch the victim stand up in the lab, and look around. One time, I hit this poor old lady who was realy having a hard time with Unix. She flipped. Asking everyone what the matrix was, and if she had broken it or something.
I ended up making a script that would run "100 bottles of beer on the wall". But I added a feature that would let you enter in the number of bottles you wanted to count through.
I was having so much fun with the school's RS/6000, that I ended getting a D in the class.

:-)
I've got to admit that, what a great way to start a day! I especially liked that "Matrix has you" line.

Check the How-I-Did-It forum. That's where everyone's hacks and tricks are posted. :)
I was a computer consultant at the school's Computer Aided Engineering center. Having hours to sit around was not good! It gave us time to develop ways to amuse ourselves.
On several of the Unix machines (we had like 200 of them) the terminal was set so people could run graphical programs on that machine remotely (xhost + is the command, don't know how to describe it). They started fixing those holes after some time. So as we found people who had forgotten to log off, we would add "xhost +" to their .cshrc files. We were trying to figure out how to change people's keyboard mappings as a joke as well. A little Dvorak for the already confused new unix user is kinda funny. ;)
It was fun to pick a victim that you could see and throw up X-Eyes and watch them react. Flipping the screen was real fun too. Then they would come and complain about it hapening and we would snicker like mad when they left. Man being a geek can sure be fun sometimes.
Just to be ultra geekie we would sometimes do it from home, too.
Damn i need to go back to college!
:D

Yeah, with xhost +, you can easily grab control of someone's X session. You can even move their mouse.
Viva SSH and auto-X11-forwarding (with encryption!)!
