no mouse in quake 3

when i start quake 3, (it was installed using the linux sh files) the mouse doesn't work, it just stays in the upper left corner. The strange thing is that it worked before, but now all of a sudden it doesn;t! even tho it works in all the other games and on the desktop! I tried reinstalling it too!

I had the same problem. I re-installed the latest point release for quake3 and it fixed the problem for me.

There is a newer point release than 1.32 that fixed this mouse issue. Try looking for the linux 1.32b patch, that should fix it.
Also, something weird, if you're starting it from the console with xinit, the mouse you're using needs to be the first input device defined in your XF86Config... i have no idea why that is, but switching it around made it work for me...
