i installed both programs called Gaim

and another called Amsn

do a search on google and u will find them easily

amsn is better because it supports file transfurs, and has the popup box in the right bottom korner like the real msn

Could you please include instructions on how to install and configure those apps? After all this is the 'How I did it' forum which should include as much detail as possible to help others.

Thanks...

personally
amsn is pretty simple

once you have downloaded the file, you need to extract it

tar zxvf amsn.....
then you will see a folder created called amsn
go into this and type

./amsn

tada!

First let me say "Hi watts, Good to see ya man (took the boy out, sounded insulting)" :D

Ok, now that is out of the way.

Gaim also supports file transfer ( did not want people to get the impression that it doesn't) I was wrong, my mistake

aMsn is a good program, I use it myself, but I think your installation instructions could have been a little clearer for the newbie. or at the very least this should be moved to the random forum. IMHO. it's not really a How I did it post.
