Ok so...[blush] I've used linux for a while but have never installed from a file downloaded on a site.

I went to redhat, downloaded the SRPMS, double clicked on them [in windows] and my program ROXIO EZ cd creater opened up & asked me to burn it. I did, restarted, and my computer ignored it...

did i [1] download the wrong files (should I get the i386 instead?), [2] burn it wrong, or [3] something I don't know about?

thanks, t

did i [1] download the wrong files (should I get the i386 instead?), Yep. You need the i386 ISO's. The SRPM ISO's have the Source RPM's, which you can build to take advantage of your particular CPU, etc. RedHat can not be booted or installed from the SRPM ISO's.
