I have tried to install Yellow Dog Linux 3.0 on 2 different Macintoshes with the same problem occuring. Linux boots and runs but only in text mode. Everytime I try to start X I get an error message as follows:

(EE) ATI(0): Depth 15 is not supported through this adapter.
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.

Fatal server error:
No screens found

One system is a PowerMac 8500, the other is a 9600.
One monitor is a Apple display and the other is a Power Computing display.

During the installation process the monitor works fine.

I was kinda hoping another member would be able to answer this since 'no screens found' is asked and answered quite often and I get a little *cough* sick of this question. Not your fault though.

Either the 'Screen' section in your X config is missing or is not configured correctly (more likely).

Please read the section about configuring X.

G4L search results for "no screens found" (http://www.google.com/linux?hl=en&lr=lang_en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=%22no+screens+found%22).
