cannot send and receive files with gnomeicu

Hi,

I am trying to send and receive files with gnomeICU with an icq user. But I get and he gets the error message unable to send file, access denied.

I am loged in as root I have full access to teh file I am trying to send and I use mndrake 8.

Does anyone have any idea ofhow i can overcome this problem? :confused:

Loggin in as root is not helping.

What version of icq is your friend using?

Is either of you behind a firewall?

I am always logged in as root so it doesnt really matter.

He is using icq 2000b and he is not behind a firewall.

DON'T BE LOGGED IN AS ROOT!!!!

Basically, when you download Linux you get a gift. When you treat your system with disrespect then you are disrespecting the good, honest people who build that system and gave you that gift.

I am using this very strange building simulation program under linux always and if some error occurs at any time while I run it then I loose a lot of my work.

When in root i have access to some files that are used by this program, so if i dont get this access i will never use the effectively.
