i got a brand new lucent agere modem on PCI version thinking that it is compilant with linux, cause i've heard that lucent modems have very good support on this system and it is recognized and ready to use.

however, i se no signal of it on the system, so how do i know that linux can see it or not, and if not, what can i do?

how can i set it up for the internet?

thks:D :D :D

ok, i've downloaded the drivers, as an rpm, the system installed them, i used lsmod and i can see the lt_modem module, it is ok, but when i run wvdial, with the wvdial.conf already setup, the modem cannot be initialized, how do i know where does the modem has been installed? I MEAN THE tty or what?

thanks:D :D

Typing "cat /proc/pci" from a terminal will display all recognized PCI cards.
