I have downloaded perfect copies of the Redhat 9.0 ISOs. I checked the md5sums and everything. However, this doesn't stop the CDs from coming out corrupted. I am assuming that this is the fault of my CD burner, I don't see how it could be anything else. I am using Nero to burn the ISOs. Should I try to set the writing speed down? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

what are the symptoms? what i mean is...what information have you received that tells you the data on the discs is corrupted?

try an alternate burner, your cd reader might be flunky in the reading of those discs. (or try different media)

okay...if this is an obvious suggestion to you then i apologize. i don't know what level user you are...

i assume you created the cd's using the "create from image" option in nero, and didn't just drag the .iso files themselves into the data area?

While installing, the CD rom has trouble reading the CD. It often claims the packages are corrupted or the cd is bad, when the CD appears to be flawless and download is fine.

Will do. I'll experiment and post my results.

I may be a Linux newbie, but I'm not stupid ;). No need to apologize, I've seen people try to burn ISOs that way, so it must be a logical question to ask.

Thanks guys! It ended up being my crappy CD-Rom drive on the machine I wanted to install Linux on, so I replaced it ;). The CDs installed perfect this time around =D.
