Eject Key

I have Mandrake 9.1 PPC.I have a an icon on the desktop that says CD ROM mounted at/mnt/cdrom.
When i left click on it i don't get an eject option on the contextual menu.Is there a way 2 get this?
When i left click on this & try 2 unmount i get this message : umount: only root can unmount none from /mnt/cdrom

How do i get rid of this icon?Is there an alternate way 2 configure a key 2 get rid of this?
I use a 15" iLamp....

have you tried deleting the icon? just use the command line, su in then umount /dev/cdrom and then if you feel like it, eject /dev/cdrom
