What a crap piece of software. I'm so pissed. The damn thing always says update links are broken. Every single damn time. I downloaded 500 mb in updates manually, stored it locally and added it to the sources. Finally when I got into the updater, it tried to DOWNLOAD it rather then using what is on the local store! On top of that, now my local dir isn't getting CHECKED as an option for updte.

Since this seems to be a complaint and not a actual question, away it goes to 'dev/random'.

well you could say what version of mdk you have... coz may be im wrong but version 8.2 indeed kinda sux... never able to update properly.
version 9.1 hmm... i always get a message saying that either my mdk version is not supported bla bla... hmm i figure that means my mdk is up-to-date... forgive my ignorance. :p

I think the problem with Mandrake-specific questions is that everyone who is knowledgable enough to answer them has moved on to a better distro... ;)

Not all bugs are necessarily pertinet to your particular install. Check the list and see which ones are. Then download the one or two you might need manually, if you need any at all. Sometimes a person can get overzealous downloading updates just as the ones that "need" the latest kernal. Downloading for compatibility is another issue though.
