i just got StarOffice 6 Beta downloaded, and it is in a .bin file, i cant seem to get it downloaded, i even loggen in as root and by clicking on i get nothing, i open a terminal and cd over to it and instead of installing it says permission denied and i am logged in as root, whats the deal??? am i missing a package that deals with .bin files???
i have had them before and they were as easy as a .rpm file of as easy as a .exe in windoze...
Oops, i meant i can't seem to get it to install, i DO HAVE it downloaded, it just wont respond for installing...

You need to make it executable or in other words chmod u+s file.bin or chmod 0755 fine.bin then ./file.bin to run it...simple as that :D .Hope this helps.

where did you get it ? i only saw 5.2 ont he site
i went to http://www.sun.com/ and it was right there front & center, i would have to be blind to miss it...
still no good, either i am doing something wrong or a package that handles .bin is missing, i am logged in as root and it still tells me "permission denied" heck as root i have the power to trash the whole system and it wont let me install Staroffice??? something is fishy...
i read a review at LinuxToday and they said it is ok, but still a resource HOG, well if i do not get it installed i guess i wont miss much...
