Trying to install redhat 9 on my laptop.

When I start the install, blue screen comes up, in the upper left corner it reads "Welcome to Red Hat Linux".

That is all that appears on the screen, and the install hangs at this point, i've let it go for over an hour, nothing is happening (no disc access, no hard drive access). This happens with the regular install, the lowres install, and the text install.

I figured it might be a bad burn, so I reburnt at 8x, same problem.

Any ideas?

try disabling plug n play in your bios and then reboot the install and see.

I don't seem to have any options that relate to plug-n-play in my bios...

I have the same problem, also with Red Hat 9 and a laptop. I think it is my videocard, but I'm not sure. If searched a lot of sites for Red Hat install on a laptop, but found almost notting for my configuration. It is strange because Red Hat supports my SIS videocard. Somebody suggestions?

This may be of no help, but take a look at these sites :

Hope this helps...
