Coulfd somebody please help me?When trying to play any cd's audio or data nothing happens. When i put in a audio and start the cd player up the player doesn't detect any cd.When i press cd device icon on desktop i get the message(unable to enter file:/mnt/cdrom you do not have access right to this location).I read previous posts about mounting drives but according to harddrake they are already mounted.I'am using MANDRAKE 7.2 and i'am a complete novice. So if anybody is kind enough to help me could they keep it very simple.

greetings,

Ok..couple of q's....are you trying to get into the cdrom as root or as a regular user? (you may have to give the regular user privileges to the cdrom)

also, is this a burner, or a regular rom?

you may wish to try the mandake site... http://www.linux-mandrake.com I believe that they have some tutorials...one in particular about getting a cd burner working...it may help you

if you want to try giving the regular user privleges, if it doesn't already(which is a good idea, because you shouldn't do every-day work as root), login as root, and find the userdrake prog..its pretty straight forward..they make it really understandable

happy hunting,
