Problem installing LNE100TX on Debian 2.2

I'm trying to get a Linksys LNE100TX NIC installed on a Debian 2.2 system. The card supposedly uses the Tulip driver, but I am unable to load that driver during setup. When I try, I get an error message saying that the "device is busy" and something about IRQ and IO stuff (not at home right now). Any ideas why this might be?

I had the same problem, with the same adapter and distro. I fixed it by going into my system BIOS and setting "plug and play OS installed" to "no"
