I just got a trial of partition magic and looked at my drives and i noctied 7 gigs of my main drive was gone and it says that it is a type 85 instead of fat32 like the rest of my drives is that the part the linux is installed?

Hmm, if I'm not mistaken type 82 is EXT2 and 85 is SWAP, or the other way around, something like that.

<EDIT>
I think you can look up the naming of the types in <as Root> "cfdisk" or LINUX "fdisk"

Well, I checked...
85 = "Linux Extended" and 82 = "Linux Swap"
I don't think the machine wants to lie to you??

<EDIT>
Maybe (if you haven't read it yet) it'd be great to read up on these:http://www.linuxnewbie.org/nhf/intel/filesys/index.html

You'll be thankful, I AM :)
