I am trying to set up Qmail with Redhat 7.3.
when I do
make setup check - I get
./install
./instcheck in reply

when I do
./config - I get

soft error
Sorry, I couldn't find your host's conical name in DNS.
You will have to set up control/me yourself.

Is there any place where I can look up this error?

FYI, I can ping the host name from outside the linux box and I get a 100% reply. I can ping from the linux box other addresses ( I tried cnn.com and nfl.com), when I try to ping the host name it is sending and recieving 127.0.0.1. Is that right?

Thanks for any help, and dumb the answers down a bit as I am not real good at linux or networking.

Read the qmail HOWTO (http://muse.linuxmafia.org/lost+found/qmail-howto.html) for information on the interaction between qmail and DNS.
