I ftp installed Mandrake (recommended complete package) on my PII 333 196meg RAM running triple boot win98, win2k, and Mandrake. Now, whenever I try to boot to Mandrake I get prompted to enter a runlevel. 1,3, and 5 don't do anything . . it just says "there are no more processes at this runlevel", then it locks up. Any suggestions?

That happened to me with mandrake... I ended up re-installing, and it stopped doing that. I don't know why it does it, but it happens. If you don't get any better answers, try the re-install

The manpage for init (or inittab) says something about this exact thing! I just read it, but it's still a bit cryptic for me.

Maybe, when you typed 1, 3 or 5 it looked for the bootscripts where they're supposed to be IN the directories for 1 ,3 and 5, didn't find any, and just sat there. (?)
Maybe it (you?) didn't install'em along with the rest of the base system?

Good luck
