Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : vmware error
vmware used to run quite nicely ... except for maybe the bit where i can't get it to see the internet in windows but thats not the problem here, the problem is an error message whenever i try to turn the virtual machine on.. it says: please make sure kernel module 'vmmon' is loaded (/dev/vmmon) .. i can't open any virtual drives ... which gets to my question: how do i find out which modules are loaded ? is there a file which tells u the modules loaded? and how would i go about loading the vmmon module?
thanks

/sbin/lsmod will list what modules are loaded.

I had the same problem, try re-running vmware-config.pl, that fixed it for me.
ok thanks .. problem fixed .. just wondering .... my lsmod is like a binary file ... also i can't seem to let vmware access hda, my normal fat drive .. as a normal user ... how can i make it so that it can?
thanks

Not sure exactly what you are asking so I will just point you to the VMware documentation. Read the section on disk modes.
