I had been using the version of Lilo that came with SuSE 6.2 with great success. Now that I've switched to Debian, though, I'm not happy with the version of Lilo that came with Potato. Does anyone have a preference for a boot loader other than Lilo? I value ease of setup more than anything.
Incidentally; I don't boot to X, so that's not a requirement. I always seem to have a bunch of cli stuff to do before starting X.
Thanks

The Extended Operating System Loader (http://www.xosl.org/). I've never used it, but from what I hear it works like a dream :)

I use choose os...

apt-get install chos

It's configuration is kind of like lilo's, but you can put graphics (Binaries) into it and you have a menu to choose from...
If you are interested, I can post my /etc/chos.conf file...

The doc's that come with the deb are good... /usr/share/doc/chos...

They have some example configs and some binaries to use as background pics...

DaWabbit,

XOSL (noted by Tyr-7BE above) is great!

I started using it after many, many problems with LILO and having to boot from floppies. I installed it about a week ago and actually don't have to wonder what the computer is going to do at boot-up.
