Hi! everybody!

I was tring to install Linux on one of our PC from another PC for which I created boot floppy using bootnet.imgbut since it didnot detect ethernet card installation does not proceed.

I have new DLink DFE-538TX card and the manufacturer have given Linux driver with it. In my previous installation I was able to compile the drive and made the Card operational.

For some reason I am reinstalling linux but this time I thought of tring Network[NFS] installation. After tring to create boot image with bootnet.img for 10-15 time on about 3 different PCs and with 10-15 damaged floppy, I was finaly able to create the boot floppy.

The PC boots and also asks if NFS, FTP or HTTP installation and gives a list of drivers, even after I select, what I think is the right driver [rtl8129/8139]-, the installation does not go any further.

Is it that I have to compile the driver for which source code is provided by manufacturer and if so how do I do that. In short how do I get around with this problem.

Also please tell me if I can do this installation from a Windows 98 PC which has a cdrom.

Thanks
