I purchased a Canon A60 camera(usb). I have libgphoto2,gphoto2 and gtkam installed. I think I am missing a driver, but not sure what. Here is the end of /var/log messages after I turn ON the camera connected to usb1:

Jun 7 14:12:18 localhost kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned device number 3
Jun 7 14:12:18 localhost kernel: usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0x4a9/0x3074) is not claimed by any active driver.
Jun 7 14:12:22 localhost /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: ... no modules for USB product 4a9/3074/1

It appears hotplug is working correctly. Here is the error from the commandline of gphoto2:

[tony: ~] gphoto2 --summary

*** Error ***
An error occurred in the io-library ('Could not claim the USB device'): Could not claim interface 0 (Operation not permitted). Make sure no other program or kernel module (e.g. dc2xx or stv680) is using the device and you have read/write access to the device.
*** Error ('Could not claim the USB device') ***

For debugging messages, please use the --debug option.
Debugging messages may help finding a solution to your problem.
If you intend to send any error or debug messages to the gphoto
developer mailing list <gphoto-devel@gphoto.org>, please run
gphoto2 as follows:

env LANG=C gphoto2 --debug --summary

Please make sure there is sufficient quoting around the arguments.

What is missing? Is the Canon driver missing?
Does hotplug take care of mount/umount of any device connected?

Well, I think I am scr^%# until gphoto2 can support my camera. I'll have to resort to the other OS until then........ahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit: ---> gPhoto2's web site says a new release was due out 5/31/03 that would handle my camera..........
