I was downloading mandrake 8.1 late last night, and it was up to 60% done when I let it rided unattended. The next morning, the file was gone.

Since I have dsl:

1. Is konqueror download manager has resumable capability?

2. Or, the site closed at night?

This is not a big trouble for me because this morning I redownloaded it again.. But it is as a friendly reminder to those who use dial -up to download linux distros. Redhat.com estimated it would take 27 hours to download one CD with dial-up connection.

konqueror does have resume.. Simply click on the same link as you did to save the file, make sure you save it to the same place as your incompleted file, and it will ask you if you want to resume.

That what I thought, so may be the site closed for the night. This is terrible because we never know?

I agree. Konqueror does resume downloads. I normally use Konqueror for browsing and downloading, and there have been times that I had to resume a broken download.

You also have to consider if the site where you're downloading from supports the resume function... If the host doesn't support it, then Konqueror just can't do it, even if it supports resuming broken downloads... :D

Since I have dsl which has continuous connection, I incline to think that site went to bed. :D

another thought though, if Konqueror d. manager is resumable(which I have no doubt) why I didn't see the unfinished file? :(
